Any news about Xen for dfbsd?
Any ReiserFS? I have some friends using Linux with ReiserFS (they say it’s the best fs, lol) and I want they can give me their HDDs full of P2P stuff, but they laugh at me because DragonFly not supports ReiserFS (and FreeBSD supports it). Poor Linux users ;)
yep, Xen would be cool….
at least as DomU
(answering both questions)
I haven’t heard about anyone working on Xen with DragonFly, though it would certainly be possible. It may be difficult with the rapid development the system is going through. Ask about this on the kernel@dragonflybsd.org mailing list…
For ReiserFS: The immediate solution would be to take the hard drives and pop in a live CD – Knoppix or perhaps PCBSD? that could then read the drives and copy the material off.
I’ve never heard ReiserFS talked about except in terms of how easy it is to lose data when using it. DragonFly is going to be using ZFS from Sun, which is much more reliable and easy to use.
Also: don’t these Linux users have a network connection? Or don’t know how to use fdisk?

This is my fstab, I tried *A LOT* of different FreeBSD livecds and can’t detect my partitions. Emergency “holographic” shell of FreeBSD install CDs is *PATHETIC*, even not has commands like “ls”.
