DragonFly is (one of?) the first to plan for ZFS, but it appears another BSD – Mac OS X – may also take it up. More information is (unsurprisingly) on the Wikipedia ZFS entry. Gee, it’d be nice to have ZFS across all BSD platforms, wouldn’t it?

I pretty much prefer BSD, but I was thinking of moving to Solaris simply because of ZFS. But when I found out it won’t boot from ZFS yet, I went back to BSD.
I think Dragonfly is doing things “the right way” and would love love LOVE to see ZFS be the default native filesystem for Dfly.
I would also prefer Gentoo’s portage system over pkgsrc, but as long as there’s a package system that’s fairly usable, then that’s fine.
Dfly is still lacking in documentation, I’m searching and surfing as I go along, I hope I can find some time to donate some documentation to the project. But in the mean time, I’m excited about the ZFS news..
