If you want to experiment, Matthew Dillon has added a little program that tests syslink connectivity. Syslink is the protocol that will be used for communication between DragonFly systems in a cluster. Don’t get too excited – it’s just a test program.

How is DragonFly going to deal with the security problems implied by sending these messages? Are they assuming that all the machines operate in a safe environment?
A good question for the mailing lists. The assumption, as I recall, is that some/all of the links will exist in a higher-latency/smaller bandwidth environment, i.e the Internet. That would be about as unsafe as you can get.
