Maybe you don’t see these much, but they are very common form letters (read: spam) which are sent out regularly to anybody they can associate with a domain. The idea is to increase google rank of a domain by getting links placed on reputable sites, and then making money off ad traffic.
It’s an extraordinarily bad idea to take them up on the offer :) You generally get the money, but you are guaranteed to end up with the domain losing google rank, and you have to live with the fact you are now helping spammers :)
