Getting into the swing of this link collection thing…
- The first paragraph of this things magazine post is about the “lingering memory of the space of ancient video games.” It’s good; follow the links to read. It also mentions the excellent This Gaming Life book, which is on the shelf to the right of me as I type, and can be read in full online. (though it’s worth buying.)
- This made me laugh.
- How to kill your online community. Good guidelines for how to (not) act.
- This week’s “Only the Internet could produce this”: Einstein vs. Hawking, the rap battle.
- pcc is now at version 1.0.
- Anyone have recommendations for a good domain registrar? I’m sick of mine.
Have a look at GratisDNS by Larsen (also known as czar), a danish BSD user (http://www.bsd-dk.dk/en/index.shtml). His company has specialized in DNS for almost a decade, and he has become expert as a result. So far the company has mostly handled danish and scandinavian domains, but it is expanding as far as I can tell. Currently GratisDNS has 47522 users, and 221583 domains.

I haven’t tried this registrar myself, but recently somone told me this registrar is good and the complete opposite of godaddy, so maybe it suits you.

I’m using http://joker.com/ and have no complaints besides somewhat sparse TLD support, so I had to resort to http://name.com/ for a .so domain … not much experience there yet, but they appear solid.
I am using this one. I am happy with it. It is not only a registrar but also a virtual hosting platform.

Thanks so much for the mention of my slides from the #RIPcommunity presentation. :) I appreciate it. I use eNom for my registrar. :)
