Matthew Dillon moved some locks and exec() performance jumped up significantly – 50% or more. This is a single system call, so I don’t know how much translates through to real performance change, but it’s interesting to see.

With all of these recent performance improvements, really hope someone who knows how to do proper benchmarking will performance test DragonFly to the latest version of the other BSD & Linux.
Unfortunately, I’m not that person who knows how to do proper benchmarking.
It would be nice just to have an ‘internal’ benchmark. Have a regularly updated DragonFly machine that performs something, records the rate/score/whatever, then rebuilds to the most recent release and tries again.

Great idea. That would be hugely beneficial.
+ 1 for continuous benchmarks & updated benchmarks vs Linux
Please, update the section http://www.dragonflybsd.org/performance/
With this? I didn’t think it matched.
