Ahh fortune wars. One aspect of the FreeBSD thing is the move was apparently unilateral (at least from just looking at the maiing list); I don’t know if it was or or was not, just that’s the way it looked.
I’ve been doing this long enough I understand that something that used to be inoffensive is now offensive, but the idea of completely obliterating history is often the wrong move; leads to repetition of that history.
