The cdce(4) driver has been ported to DragonFly from FreeBSD, by Markus Pfeiffer. It’s for networking over USB, whether it’s USB on both ends or Ethernet on one.

Does this also enable some 4G Modems that uses CDC-Ether, for example?
ZTE MF79S is one of those dongles that, as soon as you plugin on Linux and Windows, will be recognized as an ethernet interface
I think it would, cause Markus was doing this specifically to enable a modem… but I don’t have that hardware available to verify.
I wish i could help with probing one of them on DragonFlyBSD.
I only have those already deployed and attached to OpenWRT/LEDE access points on remote offices.
