Unexpected? Haiku uses FreeBSD’s ethernet & WiFi drivers via a compatibility layer, and FreeBSD often shares code with DragonFly, so maybe not so unexpected… ;)
I haven’t linked a Haiku item before and not that many people know code provenance unless they are watching commits… So unexpected seems like a good phrase here. I look forward to using words like “commonplace”.
Actually, there’s one item from 2017, about a Haiku GSoC project to port Linux DRM using DF’s compatibility layer:
