As mentioned last week, there’s a new build of dports for 5.4, now available. No surprise, but a reminder to keep third-party software up to date is never wasted.

minidlna has disappeared. There is nothing about it in https://github.com/DragonFlyBSD/DPorts/blob/master/MOVED
Is it a mistake ? Will it come back ? If not, is there an “equivalent” ?
That is a good question – I don’t know why it’s silently gone. Given that I’d expect a MOVED entry, my hunch is it’s a mistake.
About how often do these package builds get updated?
Whenever someone can get an entire build done. If a major port breaks for some reason, that needs to get fixed before uploading a new-but-less-complete batch. I mention this because tuxillo and other have spent a lot of time getting some complicated packages working for this latest build – notably chrome, which built fine but crashed lots.
Thanks. Is there an announcement generally made other than here? I’m used to checking freshports for port upgrades on the FreeBSD side, assuming the github dports page is the best place for that kind thing for DFly, but not sure about package announcements.
Announcement hasn’t been consistent. I’ll note it here whenever I know about it.
