Matthew Dillon posted a note about HAMMER, his distributed file system. This post notes he’s accomplished the most difficult part, and a working system is on track for the end of the year. He’s made a pile of commits to match, too.

I have build a kernel with hammer option and lsvfs shows that hammer is loaded but I have no idea how to create a hammer partition resp. how to mount it :(
Maybe a corresponding wiki topic could be started?
I think the functionality isn’t there yet – it’s ‘stubbed in’. Matt just posted something about having a single cluster (meaning disk allocation, not multiple systems) working by next week, so that may be the point where you can really test it.
